Happy New Year. The release of the movie was my highlight of the year. Wild LivesIt’s a book that took years to write and was the result of tens thousands of miles of traveling. It’s also available in the UK, in Italian, and an Australian version is set for release in February. The limited edition version, which will be released in March, will come in a stylish clamshell case with a signed print. 2023 started out in Thailand photographing the mesmerizing eruption of bats as they streamed out of their cave and into the sunset, and stops in Honshu and Hokkaido allowed for one more crack at Japan’s winter wildlife. I then found myself on the highest plateau of India, the Ladakh region, where I was able to capture the elusive snow leopard – just in time to get it in the book!
Before the annual Katmai Bear trip, we attended workshops from Moab in Utah to the Appalachian Highlands in North Carolina. We also squeezed in an incredible adventure at Glacier Bay, where we were treated with plenty of breaching orcas and fantastic cuisine aboard the Alaskan story yacht.
My next book began Fall with my first. Act Of FaithI was fortunate enough to visit Benin, Chad, and capture some incredible photos of ceremonies unique to these regions. The year ended with a few U.S. workshops, and another trip to India with an amazing tour group capturing wildlife in Kanha National Park and Kaziranga National Parks.
It was a loaded year – and 2024 is shaping itself upYou’re also busy!
